    Getting Started

    Tuesday, May 25, 2010, 12:40 PM [General]

Our little group (consisting of ... well, mostly pirates) is working on getting started in the midwest faires.  My husband and I are planning on selling leatherbound notebooks (some really nice ones), and a friend of mine and I are thinking about playing music (she has an oboe, and I have a clarinet, though I'm thinking about getting a flute) at the booth.

What would be a good outfit for musicians anyway?

I don't know if I can fit in the musician with the mage, but I'm not incredibly sure about the mage anyway.  I don't know.

Right now, I have a little one in the womb to think about, so I'm not too focused on the Ren stuff at the moment.

Does a Clarinet go with the Renaissance?

Lady Katerina.. Thought in the Making

    Sunday, February 21, 2010, 9:24 AM [General]

One day, while I was sitting on the couch watching the slide show of pictures on our little laptop, I saw a great picture that really inspired me.  And then I had a dream of the welder machine I was using at work blowing up...  I lived with a bunch of scars...  And the idea of Lady Katerina, pyro mage came to mind.

The outfit is much the same as the picture I saw; red, black, maybe some gold (doing this from memory lol).  It's the pyro part I'm having trouble with.  How do I do a few illusions with fire.. without hurting myself?

The scars will be simple makeup, though I hope to make them look as real as possible.  Why burn scars?  Because no one can just jump into something and be perfect at it.  I'm hoping people ask me about them, especially since they will most likely be obviously fake.  I'm hoping it's an inspirational "never give up" moment.

Anyway, I was wondering your thoughts would be on this.  And for the faires that frown upon a pyro mage, I can simply be Lady Katerina.  I'll need a non-mage story for her.  Trying to break away from wearing scraps and hoping they work.  Really want a character I can stick with, so your opinions are more than welcome.  Thanks.

Hello m'lady, mylady, my wife! I just wanted you to know that I love you dearly! I know we see eachother each and every day but it doesn't get said as often as it is meant to be. I love you with all my heart. I still smile every time i see that picture of you in the stocks, and the day the scottsman asked a pirate to be his wife! Flash forward to July, and that day finally arrived. It was beautiful. Thank you for the memories love! Thank you for being a part of my life, and joining me with the ren fairs, and all my crazy life schemes.
